Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has been hospitalised after sustaining gunshot injury during a skit production.
The incident reportedly occured on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota Bridge in Ogun State.
Broda Shaggi was shot in the thigh while shooting skit under the bridge.
Reports have it that a police source disclosed that the skit maker was immediately rushed by his crew members to the Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.
He was however referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.
Meanwhile, details surrounding the shooting, including who was responsible, have not been provided.
Shaggi is a two-time Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie or TV Series winner at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2022 and 2023.
Broda Shaggi first gained popularity on social media platforms like Instagram, where he posted short comedy skits. His online fame led to opportunities in Nollywood, Nigeria’s film industry, where he has featured in several movies and TV shows. He has also released music, including the hit song “Oya Hit Me,” which features a fusion of Afrobeat and Fuji music.
