Chelsea Football Club has made history with massive 4-1 comeback victory against Real Betis at the UEFA Conference League final.
The Blues cruised past the La Liga side to emerge this first ever club to win all available European competition trophy.
Chelsea who had maintained a stellar performance across the Conference League campaign went head-to-head against Real Betis on Wednesday evening at the Worclaw Stadium, Poland.
A sloppy start however saw the London side conceded an early goal when Real Betis midfielder, Isco, found the unmarked Ezzalzouli at the edge of the box in the ninth minute, giving him plenty of time to break the deadlock with a powerful low shot.
Real Betis managed to keep Chelsea at bay till the end of the first half with 1-0 lead.
However, the Manuel Pellegrini-led Spanish side could not hang on for long in the second half as 23-year-old Cole Palmer’s two assists in five minutes turned the match around for Premier League club Chelsea and his efforts saw him named Player of the Match.
Palmer first dragged the Blue on levels term with Real Betis after launching a cheeky cross into the opponent’s box which was headed past Real Betis by Chelsea midfielder, Enzo Fernandez.
The England international would again showcase his prowess with another cross barely three minutes after.
This time, Senegalese striker, Nicholas Jackson, was at the receiving end, bundling the ball into the net with his chest to put Chelsea into a 2-1 lead.
Substitute Jadon Sancho made it 3-1 when he cut inside and curled a delightful shot into the far corner that gave goalkeeper Adrian no chance.
Moises Caicedo would then put the icing on the cake with a fourth goal to seal the London club’s seventh major European trophy.
The victory means the Enzo Maresca-led Blues are the first team to have won all three European competitions, having lifted the Champions League twice along with two Europa League trophies in their history.
