Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday stormed the Abuja residence of the immediate former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
It was gathered that the operatives had arrived at about 9:30am with the mission to enter into the house. There was however uproar in the neighbourhood as some people resisted the invasion of the residence which is located in Zone 4 area of the metropolis.
The EFCC did not issue any statement on the development. However, NPO Reports that there had been some allegations bordering on money laundering against the governor while he held sway as the Chief Executive of the state. A cousin of the former governor is currently under prosecution over the same allegation.
The EFCC operatives had barricaded the road leading to Yahaya Bello’s house creating tension in the entire neighborhood .
