The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that an estimate of 81.50 percent of the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) of registered voters has been collected ahead of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.
This was made known in a statement issued on Wednesday by the commission’s Chairman of Information and Voters’ Education Committee, Mohammed Haruna.
According to the statement, a total of 1,906,390 PVCs has been collected out of the 2,339,233 registered voters documented by INEC while the remaining uncollected PVCs have been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
‘Ahead of the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, 15th August 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to announce the final figures of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected by registered voters across the State.
‘Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected.
‘The remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission’s established practice.’ The statement partly read.
INEC also noted that a total of 6,101 persons with damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs applied for replacement of their cards.
The commission further disclosed that a table of the PVCs collected, Polling Unit by Polling Unit (PU), has been published on the Commission’s website.
It reassured political parties, civil society organisations, media, and the good people of Osun State of its total readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election on Saturday, 15th August 2026.
