The duo of singer Azeez Fashola popularly called Naira Marley and his ally, Sammy Balogun called Sam Larry, have been granted bail today.
Part of the bail terms as learnt by the NPO Reports was that the two must drop their international passports and must appear at the state Criminal Investigations Department of the police command every week pending the determination of the allegations against them.
The bail is also in the sum of N20m . NPO Reports that both were taken into custody by the police after they returned into the country after being accused of having hands in the death of popular singer, Oladimeji Ilerioluwa also known as Mohbad. Mohbad was originally a signee of Naira Marley’s recording company before he pulled out in 2021.
Things have not been the same as the singer was alleged hounded severally by people alleged to be agents of Naira Marley. His sudden death had sparked nationwide protests with many calling for the prosecution of the singer and his ally, Sam Larry.
The magistrate, Adela Olatunbosun told the defendants to submit their passports and ordered them to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti.
In her ruling, Olatunbosun said: “As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.”
She also warned that no one should contact her directly on the case. She cautioned: “Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and notentiallv disclosed in open court
