Lagos socialite and filmmaker, Olajide Kareem, popularly known as Seun Egbegbe has regained his freedom after spending 42 months in jail.
A Federal High Court, Ikoyi has however found the filmmaker guilty of only one out of the 44 charges slammed on him.
NPO Reports learnt Wednesday morning that the film maker was released from the prison on Tuesday.
An associate of the filmmaker who spoke with him told NPO Reports that he plans to open up on his experience in prison very soon.
Egbegbe, after his ordeal where he was also accused of theft, was the subject of a popular musical track by a Nigerian hip hop star who released an album over his arrest.
He had been arraigned by the police for alleged fraud involving N39 million; $90,000 and £12,550.
He was accused of fraudulently obtaining the money from about 40 Bureau De Change Operators in Lagos between 2015 to March 2017.
In her judgment on Tuesday, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo, sentenced the filmmaker for the only one charge and for which the judge ruled he had served more than enough time in jail.
The judge said out of 44 charges, 43 of them could not be sustained because there were no claims to substantiate them.
She also accused the Prosecuting team of failure to produce ample evidence that nail the accused.
The judge also ordered the police to return funds recovered from Egbegbe while expressing regrets that the Police had tampered with it.
