The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has visited the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in his office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Friday.
The mission of the highly revered monarch at the Ada George residence of the Governor was not known at the time of filing this report but he was billed to declare open the 37th Annual National Conference of the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN) holding in the city.
However, observers think the monarch’s visit which also included a brief closed door meeting, might have also discussed the raging feud between the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Wike.
The crisis is believed to be putting into jeopardy, the hopes of Atiku winning the 2023 presidential election where the likes of Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress and Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party are contesting.
