President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday gave his nod to the establishment of a new committee to tackle unending fuel crisis.
Petrol is now sold for as much as N400 per liter in some places as the queues get longer in some of the marketers stations.
The committee, which will be chaired by Buhari, has the Minister of State for Petroleum Resource Chief Timipre Sylva as Alternate Chairman.
Adviser to the Minister (Media and Communications), Horatius Egua said the committee would ensure transparent and efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country.
The committee, according to the statement by the media adviser, is also to guarantee proper management of national strategic stock, rehabilitation of the nation’s refineries and end-end tracking of petroleum products, especially fuel to ascertain daily national consumption and eliminate smuggling.
