The presidency has finally harkened to calls to end the current logjam on he nation’s tertiary institutions as the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Agboola Gambari is set to lead a delegation to meet officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Thursday.

The union on Monday went on another three months strike after the expiration of the initial three months. ASUU itself confirmed the meeting would hold today with the federal government delegation. The union is demanding better funding of education as well as better remuneration for its members. Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige had led other negotiations in the past. The negotiations have failed to produce results.
