The Chief Imam of Iwo, in Osun State, Sheikh Abdulfatai Olododo has died.
NPO Reports gathered that Olododo died in the early hours of Friday at the age of 96.
Olododo was installed at the Chief Imam 10 years ago.
It was learnt that he has been ill for some time and unable to lead in prayers before his final passing on Friday.
His death has thrown the predominantly Muslim community into mourning.
A member of the Muslim community and Imam of Anwar Islam Movement in Iwo, Sheikh Sanni Abayomi Abdulrazaque told the NPO Reports that the late Olododo was a deep thinker and a scholar of note.
He said ensured peace and increased knowledge of Islam while he served as the Chief Imam.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Islamic scholar.
