Nigerian Socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, was on Sunday night turned back from the 17th edition of the Headies Award over invite.
Mild drama had ensued between the socialite and bouncers following the socialite’s arrival at the Landmark event centre.
As captured in a now viral post shared on X, the bouncers blocked the entrance against Cubana Chief Priest who could be seen making phone calls while his entourage challenged the bouncers.
One of the entourage could be heard accusing the bouncers of insulting the socialite.
“Wetin dey worry you? Why you go dey insult am like dat.” The infuriated man said.
After few minutes of altercations, the socialite walked back to his car following the bouncers refusal to let him in.
NPO Reported that the Headies Award themed “Back to Base” saw Nigerian Rapper, Odumodu Blvck, emerge winner of the most prestigious Next Rated award.
Odumodu beat fast-rising stars including Qing Madi, Shallipopi, and Ayo Maff amongst others for the award.
Other notable winners include:- Tribe Called Judah,(Soundtrack of the Year); Tems, who won Best Recording of the Year for her song “Burning”; Qing Madi, who won Songwriter of the Year for “Vision” by Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma.
Others are OZEBA, who won Producer of the Year; Director Pink, Music Video of the Year for “EGWU”; Flavour, Afrobeats Single of the Year for “Big Baller”.
Also, Temitola Adekunle Johnson and Michelle Mukoro (King Mitchy), who were recipients of the Humanitarian Award.
The event drew an array of star-studded attendees, showcasing the richness and diversity of African music.
Notable attendees included Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who graced the occasion with his presence.
Celebrities, top industry stakeholders, and dignitaries walked the red carpet, adding to the glamour of the evening.
