The Dangote Group has spoken up following a recent road accident involving one of its trucks which has left a victim, Ms. Ruth Otabor injured in Edo State.
NPO Reports that Ms. Ruth is the younger sister of Big Brother Naira Season 7 Winner, Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna.
The crash occurred on Wednesday near Auchi Polytechnic and involved a heavy-duty truck connected to the Dangote Group.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the company said senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc, together with its insurance team, promptly visited the scene, engaged law enforcement authorities, and met with the victim and her family at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
According to Dangote Group, Ms. Otabor will receive comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation in line with the company’s welfare policy.
“This action reflects our unwavering commitment to the well-being of those affected,” the statement read.
“Our thoughts remain with Mrs. Ruth Otabor and her loved ones, and we wish her a full and speedy recovery.”
NPO Reports that Phyna took to her social media to cry out over the state of her sister who is critically injured, with her left leg amputated and her other leg at risk.
She accused Aliko Dangote, and his company of shielding the truck driver from justice.
“From all that has happened, you decided to tell the Nigerian police to remove the plate number on the truck that crushed my sister.
“Everybody else takes priority over her,” she wrote.
