Death toll has now reached six in the seven storey building that collapsed in the Lekki area of Lagos on Sunday.
M. Ibrahim Farinloye, South West Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who confirmed the recovery of the sixth corpse said the sixth corpse was recovered from the rubbles of the collapsed building on Oba Idowu Oniru Street, Lekki in Lagos on Sunday.
Emergency response agencies recovered two bodies from the site on Sunday and recovered three others earlier on Monday.
The remote and immediate causes of the building’s collapse have yet to be ascertained.
The search and rescue operations are still on-going as the rescue teams are digging down to ground zero.
On Monday, Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Dr. Idris Salako, resigned his appointment on Monday.
The governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu hinted of a new overhaul of the ministry.
