The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates as set to vote for new national leaders as the party arranges ballot boxes at its ongoing Elective National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
NPO earlier reported the commencement of the two-day convention at the Lekan Salami stadium on Saturday with over 3,000 delegates and stakeholders in attendance.
In an update of the event shared on the PDP official X handle, rows of ballot boxes stretched along the red-carpet walkway, indicating that the voting of the party’s new national leaders will commence soon.

Ahead of the election, several candidates rallied around the stadium with their supporters to canvas for the delegates’ support.

Some of the aspirants as observed by NPO Reports including, Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki who is contesting for National Chairmanship position and Chineyenwa Ogbu, an aspirant for the National Woman Leader.
As earlier reported, the PDP had defied the series of litigations surrounding the conduct of the convention with the party loyalists on Saturday trooping out in numbers to witness the commencement of the two-day convention.
