A Delta State University (DELSU) female student has been brutally assaulted and stripped naked by her colleagues over a man.
The ugly incident which was captured in a now viral video shared on X on Tuesday saw the gang of female students from DELSU’s affiliate campus in Mosogar area of the state stormed the lady’s hostel, accusing her of having affairs with a boyfriend of one of the gang members.
Following the arrival at the hostel, the gang leader lashed the girl with a cane as she ran for safety.
She was however captured by the gang and dragged into her room where she was further brutalised and stripped naked.
A student who recounted the incident in a WhatsApp chat, disclosed that the incident occurred on Friday.
She identified the gang as political science students from the affiliate campus.
Prior to the assault, the lady, according to the student, had earlier been attacked last week Thursday, forcing her to skip examination the following day as she fell sick due to the attack.
She disclosed that she was fully stripped naked and recorded in the recent attack by the gang.
The student however noted that the school had since taken action over the case with those involved currently at risk of being expelled.
Meanwhile, the videos of the assault had since sparked public outrage as netizens demanded the apprehension of the students involved in the assaults.
This had also caught the attention of the Delta State Police Command who condemned the assault while seeking further information about the victim.
