Nigerian human rights activist, Isaac Fayose, has slammed President Bola Tinubu over a banner welcoming him; his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu; and son, Seyi Tinubu, back to Lagos following their two-day state visit to the United Kingdom.
Fayose in a video shared on X on Monday faulted the rows of banners erected along the road at Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of the state.
The activist held that democracy is not a family heritage as he warned Nigerians against voting for Tinubu in the 2027 General elections.
“Democracy is not a family heritage. Is it normal? Don’t let them scare you. These people will not come back.
“Vote and let our votes come in bulk or else we will buy fuel for N5,000 per litre. It will be a family heritage. You, your children, your unborn children will be there in bondage forever.
“Open your eyes. This is the first time we have government of the family, by the family for rice.” He said.
Fayose further ridiculed Tinubu’s donation of food palliatives.
“You have problem, they give you rice. They kidnap your Uncle, they give you rice. There is no fuel in your car, they give you rice.
“There is no good school, they give you rice. Bad road, they give you rice.
“Now image of they are doing second term, he will be maximum ruler. Wake and stop sleeping. It is time to take your country back.
“When we vote, don’t be scared that your votes will not count.” He said.
The activist further slammed the governors defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that they joined the ruling party to avoid been probed for maladministration.
“All those governors they have with them, maybe dem don chop our money. You commot subsidy, you cannot have savings.
“They told us when they remove subsidy, they will be saving at least $1 billion every month. How much have they saved. NNPC now they stole your money there.
“All the governors that are decamping, they are decamping for their pocket not for you.
“Maybe they’ve done something bad in their government and they don’t want them to probe them. It is time to vote these people out.” He added.
