Nigerian celebrity Disc Jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has emerged one of the winners of the 2025 Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA) in Dubai.
DJ Cuppy joined group of selected figures celebrated for excellence, influence, and social impact as she was honoured with the prestigious award on Wednesday.
The recognition places the Nigerian DJ, music producer and philanthropist among a select group of global figures celebrated for excellence, influence and social impact.
In her remark, the daughter Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, expressed her gratitude to the organisers of the event.
She dedicated the award to Nigeria as she thanked Nigerians for their support of her career.
“Thank you so much. All glory to God. I love this city so much.
“I’ve been DJing for 17 years and I love what I do. I was the young girl from Nigeria.
“But now I’m a woman with a global vision.
“But I cannot stand here today without remembering where I come from- my beloved country, Nigeria.
“In my language in Yoruba, we say eniyan lasomi. My people are my covering.
“So, I want to thank all my people. I dedicate this award to Nigeria my country where so many heart are hurting. But may this be a beckon of hope.” DJ Cuppy said.
Held annually in Dubai, DIAFA has become one of the Middle Eastβs most prestigious international honours, recognising outstanding personalities across music, culture, humanitarian work, business and public service.
According to reports, past recipients include global entertainers, royalty, heads of government and international change-makers.
DJ Cuppyβs inclusion at the 2025 ceremony underscores the growing global acknowledgment of African creatives whose influence extends beyond entertainment.
