The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has charged for the former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and Nigerians to avoid politicising the 2024 Bodija Explosion.
Makinde gave the charge during the 2nd year remembrance of the 2024 Bodija explosion held on Friday at the All Soul’s Church, Old Bodija, Ibadan.

While commiserating with the affected residents, governor who was represented by Demola Omotosho, the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation, expressed his gratitude to them for maintaining their decorum amid controversies surrounding the incident.
Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the residents.
“The government of Oyo State commiserate with all of us and we pray to God that such thing will not happen again in our midst.
“We thank you again that we have maintained decorum because what happened is not political and we appreciate the Bodija residents that even when all those political talks are going on, we known that money cannot by the lives of the people that we lost, the properties that we lost. We pray to God to comfort all of us.
“On behalf of his excellency, the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, we as government have been alive to our responsibilities and we will continue to support the people of Bodija through Bodija Estate Residents Association (BERA) and by extensions, everybody in Oyo State.” He said.
