Social Media Activist, Martins Otse, fondly known as VeryDarkMan’s claim of N180 million being stolen from his NGO’s account, has been trailed by doubts.
The activist had taken to his social media to disclose the hacking incident on Friday, stating that the account was left with only N20 million.
This has therefore been trailed by lots of controversies and comments from many Nigerians, doubting the authenticity of his words.
Instagram sensation and comedian, Olukoya Michael, popularly known as Oyemykke demanded the disclosure of the bank in which the transaction was carried out and also queried the bank’s security.
He noted that it is public funds hence, a need to find a way for it to be paid back.
“What kind of security did you have on the website and also very importantly, you’ve not mentioned what bank you used and why their security is so weak that such kind of money can be stolen from them and how they are going to refund the public.
“Beacuse its an NGO fee, its for people that need the money so they need to find a way to pay you back the money”
He further noted that the apprehended suspect needs to be revealed while also assuring him that all stolen funds will be recovered.
“Secondly, this apprehended suspect of yours, we need to see his face he has stolen from the public, the public need to show him that he must never do that again.”
Similarly, popular cryptocurrency entreprenuer, Linus Williams popularly known as Blord, blew in hot on the activist, emphasizing that he always trolls business men and women who transact in billions of dollars while he failed to manage the funds Nigerians gave to him.
Blord therefore vowed to sue him for diverting public funds and collecting money under false pretense if he fails to provide the money in 30 days.
“You always call out Business men/women that genuinely Transact and hold billions in dollars, in any slightest chance you get without even thinking.
“E reach your turn to just handle small $120k Nigerians Gave you, You cant even handle it, not even up to months.
“Calling rubbish story, E NOR GO BETTER FOR YOUR MAMA AND HER GENERATION
“@Coolverydarkman Na This One This Boy go Confirm problem, if he doesn’t provide that money in the next 30days ill sue him for Diverting Public funds and Collecting Money Under false pretense !!!”
Some X users have also weighed in their opinions on the matter.
@lil_maamiiii said; “If it were someone else sharing this VeryDarkMan story, by now he would have set his ring light, with his dirty sachet water and black singlet, analysing God knows what. Lmaooo.”
@Mas_Dinero_ expressed his doubt and suggested he involved the EFCC,
“₦180 million don vanish just like that? Omo, hackers or no hackers, na who get mind dey this NGO? Because this story no clear o.
“Money wey no be yours dey waka anyhow? Better call EFCC; this drama don pass ordinary.”
@kcemenike expressed his disagreement with VDM’s claims saying;
“This is a big fat lie. Zenith Bank account (1313679008) is where the money is donated to, not mvoi4all.com Money in a bank cannot go missing because you slapped a “website is under maintenance” screen on your website @thatverydarkman You are a fraud, Martins.”
@CyrusOlogun said;
“First he called crypto traders fraudsters and came on to the internet to drag every one person grinding in this space saying we don’t do anything rather than scam here. Now this.
“With all his expertise and exposure, an NGO website is strong enough to hold 200Million Naira. Even Fintech sites don’t keep money online but you’re Messiah of NGO and you’re Mr Transparent Hopefully he finds the hacker tho”
