Human rights lawyer, Marshall Abubakar, has again been confronted and verbally assaulted by activists over his withdrawal of the bail application for embattled social media personality, Justice Chidiebere Mark, popularly known as Justice Crack.
NPO Reported that Marshall had yesterday come under fire following the tense court proceeding where he withdrew the bail application amid clash between the defense counsels over who to represent the defendant.
The development had sparked outrage from scores of activists waiting outside the court.
Following his exit from the court room, Marshall was confronted by the angry crowd with prominent activists like Mama Pee and Randy Peter verbally assaulting the lawyer.
The confrontation and assault would continue on Friday as the activists again stormed the lawyer, preventing him from driving out of the court.
Video shared on X showed one of the activists, Flag Boy, slamming the lawyer’s car before lying on the road, preventing Marshall from driving out.
Other protesting voices could be heard abusing the lawyer.
The development had sparked mixed reactions from netizens with some condemning the conduct of the activists against the lawyer.
Recall that Justice Crack is currently facing alleged cybercrime-related charges filed by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The DSS accused him of circulating false information capable of causing public unrest and damaging the image of the Nigerian Army.
However, Justice Crack pleaded not guilty to all charges.
