Amidst rising tensions in Republic of Benin on Sunday, the Economic Community of West Africa has condemned in strongest terms the attempt to remove President Patrice Talon.
ECOWAS said it frowned at the coup attempt which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has been foiled.
NPO Reported earlier that the coupist had made incursion into a media station Sunday morning to announce the ouster of Talon.
They were however said to have been surrounded by forces loyal to the President which holed them up in the television station.
