The All Progressive Congress (APC) are currently leading the Edo gubernatorial election with just two local government results left to be collated.
Following INEC’s collation of 16 local government results out of the 18 LGAs in Edo state, APC leads the poll with 244,549 votes as against the PDP’s 180,219 votes.
APC’s candidate, Monday Okpebholo, leads his bitter rival, Asue Ighodalo, leads with 64,300 votes difference as they await the results of the last two LGAs before the official declaration of the winner.
Meanwhile, Labour Party and its candidate, Olumide Akpata, managed to gather 13,348 votes across the 16 LGAs results announced so far.
However, there have been controversies over the LGA results with the PDP accusing APC and INEC of vote manipulation.
NPO earlier reported the rejection of some local government’s results by PDP’s collation agent, Tony Osaigbo, who alleged that votes were manufactured for the APC at local government areas such as Akoko Edo, Esan Central, and Etsako West.
