Former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Adeyemo, has on Tuesday, emerged as the new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Adeyemo had at the party’s state congress held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan, emerged as the new chairman after being unanimously adopted as the consensus candidate at the congress.
The new Oyo APC Chairman served as deputy governor to former governor of the state, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who ruled between 2011 and 2019.
Adeyemo’s emergence was announced former APC National Youth Leader and Secretary of the party’s ad hoc zoning committee, Mr. Afeez Bolaji Repete.
The congress was also supervised by congress committee constituted by the party’s national leadership in Abuja.
Also in attendance at the congress were representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to reports, the event, which attracted party leaders and delegates from across the 33 local government areas of the state, was conducted peacefully.
Meanwhile, also elected at the congress was Wasiu Olawale Sadare who was returned as Publicity Secretary of the party.
