Lagos lawmaker, James Faleke, has picked up the All Progressives Congress (APC) expression of interest and presidential nomination form for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Faleke who paid N100 for the presidential form for Tinubu also coughed out another N50 million for the purchase of the Lagos governorship nomination form for the state’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
The lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency purchased the forms on Tuesday at the party’s national headquaters in Abuja.
Faleke was formally presented the forms by Suleiman Argungu, the APC national organising secretary, with pictured shared on X capturing moment the forms were handed over to the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
The lawmaker’s purchase of the forms marks the beginning of campaign for Tinubu’s re-election bid while also edging Hamzat closer to securing the Lagos governorship ticket having been endorsed by his principal, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other APC leaders in the state.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed the presidential and national assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027.
On the othrt hand, governorship and state houses of assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
