The entertainment industry lost a prominent member today as Olufemi Esho, promoter of the Evergreen Music died at the age of 78.
Esho was known for his rich archival works on Nigerian music and music from other parts of the world.
Media enterprise speaker, Taiwo Obe was one of those who have responded to the death of Esho saying, “He spent much of his life collecting records of Nigerian musicians. Then, he created Evergreen Records , to share his collections with the public. Good thing: his daughter, Bimbo, was converted into the ministry, and will now continue as the music stops for her dad, Femi. Adieu.”
His daughter, Bunmi Esho, who broke the news via her Facebook on Monday, said her father died on Monday after a brief illness.
Known for his museum of old music he collected music for preservation and was a custodian of the old arts when alive.
Esho was also a toast of many media interviews while alive as his collection of music resonated far.
Esho had in May this year launched his Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation, targeted as the biggest music museum and gallery in Africa.
The project was a collaboration with the Mountain of Fire Ministries founder, Daniel Olukoya.
