The federal Government has announced the commencement of the new minimum wage to civil servants.
This was disclosed by the Spokesperson, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa, stating that they will receive notifications about their updated salaries.
NPO Reports that on Tuesday, the Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Ekpo Nta, confirmed that the government has approved the upward review of consolidated public service salary structure, CONPSS in line with the minimum wage(Amendment) Act, 2024.

After which the Senate passed the new minimum wage bill into law.
Although, Mokwa did not provide details on whether any outstanding arrears would be included in the payments, he reiterated that civil servants would begin receiving their new wage from today.
