Bank Confirms Glitch; Promises Quick Fix

Customers of Nigeran bank giant, First Bank, have on Thursday vented their frustration and anger over service disruption experienced across the bank’s online platforms.
The issue which had reportedly persisted for the past three days have hindered several customers from performing financial transactions.
In reaction to the development, First Bank on Thursday morning issued a statement on its official X handle.
The bank confirmed the glitch across its FirstMobile, FirstOnline, and USSD platforms.
While apologizing for the inconvenience, First Bank promised to restore the services as quickly as possible.
“Please be informed that we are currently experiencing some downtime affecting transactions to other banks on FirstMobile, FirstOnline, and USSD Platform.
“Customers may therefore experience delayed or declined transactions.
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
“Our team is working with our partners to restore services as quickly as possible, and we will provide updates once services are fully restored.
“In the meantime, please use our alternative digital channels ( FirstMonie Wallet, Debit Cards) for urgent transactions.” the statement partly read.

This, however, did not appeal to the aggrieved customers as they groaned over the technical issue with some faulting the bank’s delayed response as they recounted their ordeal.
