After months of deliberations and controversies, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has finally announced the commencement of Fourth Mainland Bridge Construction which he said will start by March or April ending.
The governor made this known earlier today at a Town Hall meeting held at Lagos West Senatorial District.
The iconic bridge, according to Sanwo-Olu, will be done in four phases with the first phase staring from Abraham Adesanya junction to Badore Waterfront.
His words; “By the end of March or April, we should break grounds and start the construction of the 4th Mainland Bridge.
“The phase one will be from Abraham Adesanya junction all the way to Waterfront that we have at Badore.”
While admitting to the likely demolition of property along the marked areas for the construction, Sanwo-Olu assured all affected landlords and business owners of outright compensation.
“I’m using this opportunity to sat we have done extensive survey. We can not get a new road without doing a bit of destruction.
“But we will ensure that we compensate everybody that their property or businesses will be destroyed by the road construction.” He added
