Police Warns Against Forceful Invasion
Emboldened by the victory of the Accord Party in the just concluded governorship election in Osun, chairmen and councillors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party have commenced takeover of council secretariats across the state.
Some of the local government areas where there have been tension Monday morning include Iwo Ife North, Atakumosa West, Ede North and Ede South local government areas of the state.
Already, the State Police Command has warned against forceful take over just as there have been reports of gun duels in some of the council areas where there has been resistance.
As against the police’s warning, the local chairman now under the Accord Party had alongside their supporters stormed the LGAs secretariats on Monday, singing and dancing as they entered into the councils.

Videos shared on Facebook showed bands playing for the visibly excited supporters.
One of the PDP/Accord chairmen spotted in the videos was the chairman of Ife North Local Government, Akande Micheal, who was addressing the supporters with a megaphone.
‘You will notice most workers are not here today. They went to Osogbo to celebrate with the governor. We are here to express our gratitude and declare that a fresh tenure has begun.
‘We will still go back to the secretariat to celebrate but for now, let’s return back home.’ He said.
In Iwo Local Government Area, the elected PDP/Accord Chairman, Monsheed Kabeer, stormed the council with his supporters.
Recall that the control of the councils across the state had been subject of legal dispute between the chairmen elected under the PDP and APC council chairmen whose own election was nullified by the court’s order.
