Nigerian Fuji musician, Taye Akande Adebisi, popularly known as “Taye Currency”, has made a shocking revelation of how late ex-governor of Oyo State, Alao Akala, paid him 99 million Naira Campaign Fee in 2011.
The musician made this known in a recent stage performance posted by a X handler (formerly called Twitter), @Postsubman, on the social media page.
As seen in the video, Taye Currency narrating how he rose to fame and wealth, revealed his encounter with the then governor of Oyo State at his home where he protested over non-payment for his previous campaign performance.
According to the musician, the person who was to pay him then often delayed the payment after Akala would have handed over the money to him.
“After campaign this person often delay my payment. Then came this day I met Akala in person at his house. I was still very much in the street then. So I expressed my displeasure over the issue, telling him I would stop coming to his house.” He narrated.
Taye Currency further stated how the late governor came to his house to inquire about his absence from their campaign activities.
He revealed how the governor ordered that he should be paid a sum worth 33 local governments revenue, which the musician estimated to be 99 million Naira.
