Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has on Friday received conjoined twins, Hassana and Husaina, who recently underwent a successful separation surgery in Saudi Arabia.
The twins arrived at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport to a warm reception by officials of the Kano State Government and a delegation from Saudi Arabia.

The surgery was performed at the King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital, Riyadh, on the directive of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
NPO Reports that Hassana and Husaina had been flown to Riyadh in October 2023, where they underwent months of medical examinations before the operation.
Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for what he described as a kind philantrophy and pledged that the Kano State Government would take full responsibility for the twins’ welfare, education, and social needs.
He also expressed optimism for more collaborations between his administration and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
