The All Progressives Congress candidate for the 2026 Osun Governorship Election, Bola Oyebamiji, has trolled the Ademola Adeleke-led administration as he solicited for Osun people’s support of his candidacy ahead of the August 15 gubernatorial election.
Oyebamiji, in his address at the grand finale of his campaign on Osogbo on Thursday, promised to get straight to work if elected as he held that governance is a serious business and not a theatre for dancing.
‘Our party is the most organised party in Africa.
‘The government of APC that is going to be elected is going to be the govt of the people, by the people, and for the people. We will stand on your mandate.
‘This government will take care of everyone. No more dancing, it is time for work.
‘Governance is not about dancing, it is a serious business. It is not a theatre.
‘This is a serious business and we are going to touch your lie in various dimensions.
‘I have a path and mandate with you and the mandate is to touch the life of the peopl of Osun.’ He said.
This had widely been considered a subtle jjab at Adeleke who is renowned for his dancing hubby.
It is also coming barely two days after the governor who seeks re-election slammed critics and the APC for making mockery of his dance.
NPO Reported that Adeleke had at a townhall meeting hosted by Arise TV on Tuesday in Osogbo accused the APC of being jealous of him.
He held that his dancing does not affect his work as governor.
Meanwhile, the APC mega rally held earlier witnessed te presence of several leaders of the party, particularly from the national level.
In attendance at the rally were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who reperesented President Bola Tinubu; Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau; and Sen. Adams Oshiomole.
Also in attendance were members of the All Progressives Governors’ Forum led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
In his address at the rally, Uzodinma, debunked claim of the governors’ forum orchestrating plot to rig the August 15 election and further incite violence in the already tensed state.
He urged members of the party to desist from partaking in any violent conduct at the poll.
‘APC is not known for violence. APC is not known for trouble. APC is a party built on ideology with progressive minds as members.
‘Don’t join the ugly parties in causing violence, killings, troubleshooting.
‘We have come to convince you on why you must vote APC on Saturday.
‘We urge all of you to come out en masse to vote for APC.
‘We are here to support the party. We are here to encourage you to see reason why Osun state must be taken to the national grid.’ He said.
Uzodinma maintained that the governors’ forum had only come to support Oyebamiji and convince Osun people to vote for him
‘We the 31 governors of APC, we are in Osun state to show solidarity, to welcome you into the fold and convince you. No violence, no intimidation.
‘We must protect our democracy and support the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fix Nigeria the way it supposed to be.
‘When you vote on Saturday, you are voting a new Nigeria.
‘Don’t look for trouble. We are already on the path of victory’ He added.
The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, was also present alongside the National Secretary of the party, Aijbola Bashiru, and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, amongst others.
