A grandmother has been arrested in the Ikotun area of Lagos state after she was found to have locked up three grandchildren up in a room for days. According to the Lagos State Police Command, neighbours who became suspicious of the cries of the children from the room where they were locked alerted the Ikotun Division of the police to the ugly development.
Spokesman of the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said in a post on X “All thanks to vigilant neighbours who alerted the police, these children were rescued by police officers from Ikotun Division after being locked up in a room for days by their grandmother. The children are now in safe hands while their grandmother is in police custody. Investigation is ongoing.
“See something, say something!”
