A combination of many weather factors may have been responsible for the crash that killed the Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe on Saturday.
Local media reports suggest that rains and wintry mix may have affected the helicopter about an hour after take off though there are no official reports of the findings yet.
CNN reports that while preliminary findings may be released soon, final reports of what transpired leading to the crash may take up to two years.
The chartered Airbus EC130 helicopter had taken off from Palm Springs, California, to Boulder City, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas, according to National Transportation Safety Board member Michael Graham, according to local media reports.
“The helicopter caught fire upon impact,” Graham added, citing witness reports. Witnesses also reported rain and a wintry mix when the crash happened, he said.
