Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have on Friday stormed the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Oyo state capital, ahead of the party’s National Convention.
This is coming amid the litigation cases surrounding the convention set to commence on Saturday,
However, the PDP were earlier today given the green light by the Oyo State High Court which further stirred the influx of supporters into the venue of the two-day event.
As contained in a statement issued by the party, the court delivered a fresh endorsement directing the PDP to proceed with the convention.
The presiding judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola, also mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to attend and monitor the PDP National Convention as scheduled.
This ruling, according to the PDP, effectively cleared the road for the Party’s Convention tomorrow.
Activities had however commenced at the Lekan Salami stadium as supporters could be seen holstering the flags party.
One of the videos shared on X by the PDP showed some northern entertainers thrilling the crowd with the local drums and trumpets.
