Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer of Living Faith Church, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has told any member of the church who fall victim of kidnappers to give his contact to the abductors as he assured them of unconditional release.
Oyedepo stated this in a video of one of his sermons shared on X on Thursday.
The renowned clergyman made the statement while sharing the testimony of how an abducted Pastor of the church was released within 24 hours after he was handed the phone to speak with the kidnappers.
“One time one of our Pastors was carried by kidnappers. I said give him the phone. I said in 24 hours you don’t check him out; you are dead.
“The place was vibrating on the spot. You don’t know what you are worth and you are begging. On the spot. It was in my office behind here. I said give him the phone.
“I said this is He. In 24 hours you are dead.
“If anybody picks you, give them my number. If he is not cut down, I’m not sent.” He said.
While harping on the need for the members to discover the spiritual force they carry through the redemption of Jesus Christ, Oyedepo narrated another abduction ordeal of one of the church member.
He claimed the lady was set free after expressing her faith in Christ without even calling him to speak with the kidnappers.
“You carry the same force if you can only discover it. You need to discover what you carry. Redemption is not a religious principle.
“One of those out daughters was captured somewhere. He said my father said I’m getting out of here latest by 7am. Not that I spoke to them. I didn’t. They didn’t call. They started cutting themselves.
“Some said you should go some said you shouldn’t go. They started cutting themselves, not my daughter.
“They said please start going. Don’t let the devil ride on you. You have been raised far above the devil.
“If the church does not conquer these devils, God has left heaven. Watch it.
‘Go out as a free being, come back to your house as a free being. Anyone that challenges you will pay for it.” Oyedepo said.
The clergyman’s claim had since sparked mixed reactions as some netizens expressed their disbelief in his claims while others affirmed what he said.
“Someone that’s using DSS, and Police protection is telling you to call him when you get kidnapped so he can send vibrations to the enemies camp. Omo”@Joseph_joe96
“Instead of us working together to put the pressure on government yo tackle a stop kidnapping, we talking about the miracle after being kidnapped. What about the people that dont have your number? It is well oh.”@adedokuntasleem
