President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration and that of his predecessor late Muhammadu Buhari are one and the same thing.
He said he indeed took over reign of leadership from himself since according to the President; he was Buhari and Buhari was him.
His statement made before a meeting with Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Abuja on Thursday marked a significant departure from some of his aides and others who had made attempts to distance the current administration from that of Buhari in terms of Economic policies and processes.
While admitting to the challenges within his administration, Tinubu assured his supporters of his solidarity with them.
“The truth is, I took over from myself. The late Buhari is me. He was a partner.
“If I took over from him, is that not from myself? So, if something is wrong, fine. Live with it, correct it, and move on.
“The life voyage is not going to be easy. And so many of you that are travelling with me, I can only stand before you and say you will not regret it.” He said.
The President trolled his critics who talked down on his administration’s accomplishments, promising to the give them his eyeglasses for them to see what he has done across the country.
He reaffirmed his commitment to his re-election bid as he vowed not to bow to pressure.
“That is why we asked you to renew their hope. If they don’t want to see the hope in the roads that we built, in the children we raised, in the economy we are growing, we will lend them jigi Bola. We will give them eyeglasses.
“I can assure you, it is whatever you say I do. But one that you need from me is a promise that I won’t run away.” He added.
