Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has broken silence after he was reportedly shot during a filming session in Ogun State.
The comedian was said to have sustained injuries in March while filming near the Sango-Ota Bridge.
Following the incident, he was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, before he was moved to another medical facility in Ikeja.
Broda Shaggi subsequently withdrew from the public, with little information about his condition made available since the incident.
His prolonged absence had left fans wondering about his wellbeing and hoping to hear from him.
Breaking his silence in a recent message shared through his WhatsApp channel, the comedian appreciated those who continued to support him despite his absence.
He admitted that he had not been able to maintain the connection he wanted with his fans, adding that their support meant a lot to him during the difficult period.
“To everyone who’s still here waiting, checking in, showing love, and holding me down even through the silence, thank you,” he wrote.
While giving the update, Broda Shaggi made it clear that he was still not ready to discuss everything he had experienced.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now but I can’t. Not yet,” he said.
He, however, suggested that he was looking forward to returning to the public and reconnecting with his audience.
“I’m hoping that day comes soon. And when it does, I promise I’m coming back better, stronger, and ready to make up for all this lost time,” he wrote.
The entertainer also used the opportunity to appreciate his supporters for remaining with him throughout his period away from the spotlight.
“Thank you for staying. Thank you for being patient with me. Thank you for still being here,” he added.
Although Broda Shaggi has yet to disclose further details about what happened to him, his message appears to signal his readiness to return to the entertainment scene.
