Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has countered President Bola Tinubu and the Authorities of the Heads of States and Government of West Africa against going to war with Niger military junta.
Kalu, who spoke from Washington DC on Thursday, said no one knows now the war with Niger would end adding that no Nigeria soldiers deserves to die in Niger.
Kalu, who is on the same political party with the President, said those advising the President should not mislead him by urging him to lead the war.
The former Governor of Abia said America has over 4000 soldiers in Niger saying, “If America wants to go to war, it has enough soldiers stationed in Niger,”
“It is not our war. It is the internal affairs, the internal problem of Niger people and I hope that my president, my friend and brother will understand this is not our war,” he said
He said rather than go to war, ECOWAS should negotiate with the junta in Niger to plan with them a time frame to return the country to democracy.
“I want him not to listen to the US,” he said
