The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has clarified that the facility affected by fire at the Lagos Depot, is not its facility.
Recall that the incident occurred at a tank farm in Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos.
This was contained in a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye.
Contrary to earlier reports, the depot belongs to HOGL energy Ltd (Honeywell Depot).
According to Soneye, the fire was as a result of petroleum products spillage within the perimeter of the tank farm.
Meanwhile, NNPC and other depots in the area have resumed loading activities.
The statement assured that the incident will, in no way, affect petroleum products supply and distribution across the country.
