The Lagos State Government on Thursday announced an extension of its earlier ban on the operations of commercial motorcycle operators popularly called Okada to four more local government areas of the state.
The newly added four local governments are Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri, Oshodi-Isolo, Mushin, including the respective LCDAs in the areas.
The government had earlier banned the operations in six council areas and nine local council development areas of the state.
At a joint ministerial briefing between the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, and Commissioner for Transportation, Frederick Oladehinde, they told journalists that the move became necessary to push forward on the resolve to end the operations of the Okada riders in the state.
