Lagos State Police Command has again experienced leadership change as the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, redeployed Jimoh Moshood as the state’s new Police Commissioner.
This was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Force’s spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, Moshood was redeployed to Lagos in an effort to bolster internal security and enhance operational effectiveness.
The new Lagos CP, as profiled by Adejobi, previously served in key positions including CP Communications Ops, Force Headquarters, Force Public Relations Officer, and CP Eastern Port, Rivers State before now.
Adejobi stressed further that Moshood’s extensive background in communications, administration and public relations, combined with his operational expertise, uniquely qualified him to head the Lagos State Police Command.
CP Moshood’s appointment, according to the Force spokesperson, is expected to strengthen coordination among units, enhance community engagement, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism in Lagos State.
Adejobi disclosed that the new Lagos Police Commissioner was charged by the IGP Egbetokun to uphold the rule of law and maintain operational excellence.
The IGP also reportedly charged Moshood to lead with unwavering integrity, enforce discipline, and implement proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property.
