Troops of the Joint North East Task Force, also known as Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested a 15-year-old suspected terrorist who took part in deadly attacks on Military base in Borno State.
The suspect, who identified himself as Tijani, admitted being part of the Boko Haram terrorists who attacked the military base in Benisheik and Ngamdu where couple of soldiers were killed.
NPO Reported that suspected terrorists had on Thursday carried out a coordinated offensive attack on the base with a Brigadier-General allegedly killed during the assault.
Speaking in Hausa while being interrogated by the troops, the teenager recounted how he was arrested on his way to Ngamdu on Saturday to collect some logisitics.
He disclosed that he had left Jilli village on Saturday with N850,000 to purchase some logisitcs in Ngamdu.
“My name is Tijjani, I am 15 yrs old, I was arrested today Sunday 12 April 2026 at NGAMDU Borno State.
“I was among the terrorists that attacked BENISHEIK and NGAMDU on Thursday.
“Before the attack we came from Jilli and returned there after the attack.
“I was sent from Jilli yesterday with 850,000 naira to collect some logistics from NGAMDU but I was arrested by troops.
“Yesterday, Saturday, I left other fighters my colleagues at Jilli, I don’t know what happened to them there.” Tijani said.
The suspect appeared to have left Jilli before the onslaught on the terrorists enclave by the troops.
NPO Reported that the North East Task Force jsd in a statement issued on Sunday confirmed launching airstrikes at the terrorirsts convergence point in Jilli with several members of the insurgents neutralised.
