A Lagos-based poultry farmer has cried out after flood ravaged his farm, allegedly destroying over N18 million worth of investment.
As captured in a video recorded by the farmer and shared on X on Tuesday, the poultry farm was visibly subermerged in flood.
A clip from the video showed several dead broilers in a flooded battery cage with only those kept at the top of the cage surviving.
Further view of the farm located in an undisclosed area of Lagos captured equipment of the poultry floating across the flooded farm as the farmer lamented.
“Lost an investment of 18 Million Naira and more in one day due to flood.” He wrote.
NPO Reported that the heavy downpour on Sunday had left many areas across Lagos flooded.
Coupled with the disruption of traffic on the road, several businesses have also been affected as the flood ravaged shops and establishments.
Some residents also lamented over the destruction of their properties especially in Lekki and other areas prone to flood in Lagos Island.
The mainland is also not exempted as videos showed flooded streets and roads in Ikorodu, Ikeja, and Orile Agege amongst others.
