A team of police officers attached to the Lagos State Police Command were subjected to mockery by residents of a flooded community after their patrol van got submerged in floods.
As captured in a now viral video shared on X on Thursday, the patrol van was abandoned by the officers in the middle of the heavily flooded street as the residents standing at the balcony of a storey-building made mockery of the officers.
One of the residents dared the officers, who were not captured in the video, to shoot.
Speaking in Yoruba, he slammed the officers over their defense of the government whenever residents call them out or speak against them.
“Why can’t you shoot now. If we speak now that they are not doing well enough, you are the ones that they will send to us. I though the gun is your power.
“When we speak against them, you will be the ones defending them. You haven’t seen anything.” He said.
