In sheer determination to stop open defecation on the Lagos-Ibadan express way corridor, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), has commenced keeping vigil.
The officials were seen monitoring those who use the area as emergency toilets.
This was disclosed in a post by Lagos Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on his X handle earlier on Friday.
Wahab disclosed that LAGESC Officials, in collaboration with Lagos Taskforce, paraded Berger axis in an attempt to apprehend open Defecators.
“Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps @LAGESCOfficial and the Taskforce team yesterday parading through the night on the notorious Berger axis to curb open defecation and other environmental nuisance.”
Recall that the Commissioner had issued stern warning to perpetrators of the environmental degrading act following the cleanup of the Lagos-Ogun border area by LAGESC and OGESC officials.
