Less than 24 hours after its discovery of apartments under the Dolphin Estate Bridge Ikoyi on Wednesday, the Lagos state government on Thursday said its officials have found out another similar illegal ‘accomodation.’
This time, the discovery was made some 200 meters away from the initial one where it found many people housed under the Osborne Bridge Ikoyi.
Commissioner for the Environment and Water Sanitation, Tokunbo Wahab, shared the discovery via his X handle on Thursday. He wrote, “Another illegal settlement was discovered under the Osborne Bridge, Ikoyi. Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps
@LAGESCOfficial
(KAI) commenced immediate clearance operation. ”
Thursday’s discovery continued the series of environmental anomalies the Babajide Sanwo-Olu government seeks to rectify with millions of illegal occupants of spaces in Lagos. The government had displaced thousands from the railway Red Line to create sanity along the path of the new transport system in the state.
