London-Lagos solo traveller and content creator, Pelumi Nubi has revealed how a truck which had broken down caused her car crash in Cote D’Ivoire.
In a recent post on her verified instagram handle, @pelumi.nubi, she stated that the truck was parked illegally in the middle of the road without warning signs in a dark street, hence her crash.
Recall that NPO Reported that the solo traveler was involved in a car accident on Tuesday.
She revealed that the Ivory Coast Police have reached out to her, requesting if she would like to press charges against the truck driver.
According to Nubi, her priority is ensuring she gets better and her car, Lumi is fixed so she can get back on her journey as she is more determined than ever before.
“The Ivory Coast Police reached out to me today asking me if I wanted to press charges to a truck driver that was parked illegally in the middle of the road with no warning signs. It being a dark street as well.
“Honestly I just want to get better, fix lumi and continue on this road trip. I’m being well looked after and Lumi is at the mechanic getting the repair that she needs too as well and I am more optimistic and determined to finish this journey more than ever before. “
Moreover, she revealed the ripple effect of crossing the borders particularly the Ivory Coast border, stating that bribes are being requested for or they won’t be given passage till around 7pm.

“The thing about border crossing and delays is that it has a ripple effect when somebody goes to your border, talking about Ivory Coast border at 10am, talking of bribery delay, you don’t allow them passage till about 7pm.
“You cause things like this to happen because they are forced to drive at night and it’s a whole can of worms that us not just worth opening.” She said.
She therefore expressed her gratitude to her fans, well wishers and viewers for the messages bordering on her wellbeing.
