A malnourished looking minor who is being arraigned for participating in the End Bad Governance protest has slumped at the Federal Hight court in Abuja before trial.
The young defendant slumped when the charge was about to be read to them by Justice Obiora Egwuatu.
In a video sighted by NPO Reports on social media, there were other co-defendants, mostly minors who were also looking very frail and malnourished.
They were also seen scrambling to share amongst themselves biscuits that were given to them by some lawyers who were moved by the emotional scene.
According to the counsel representing the defendants, Mr. Deji Adeyanju had earlier disclosed that the minors had spent over 80 days in police custody.
The minor is one of 75 individuals arrested in different parts of the country in connection with the August protest.
He revealed that the defendants, who will be answering to a 10-count charge marked: FCH/ABJ/CS/503/2024.
The police alleged that the defendants conspired to commit felony and treason offense contrary to Sections 96 and 97 of the Penal Code.
