Lawmakers Force their Ways Against DSS Operatives Invasion
Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have reaffirmed their support for the new Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, as they passed vote of confidence on her on Monday.
The Assembly, which had been under leadership crisis since the return of ousted speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, drummed support for Meranda at the plenary sitting on Monday.
After the initial invasion of the House by security operatives earlier in the day which prevented plenary, the lawmakers later ushered her into the floor where they passed the vote of confidence on her Meranda.
The House was filled with songs of cheers and praiser for her as they showed solidarity.
NPO earlier Reported the heavy presence of security operatives who took over the Assembly’s premises while sealing the Speaker and Deputy Speaker’s offices amid claims of Obasa’s return to the House today.
However, the lawmakers confronted the security operatives in the Assembly forcing their ways into the House.
The shout of “On your mandate we stand” rent the air as the lawmakers took their respective seats while one after the other declaring their supports for the speaker.
